The Shiv Shakti Kavach combines three Nepali Rudrakshas: 1 Mukhi, Gauri Shankar, and 5 Mukhi. The Gauri Shankar (naturally joined twin bead) sits at the centre, symbolizing the union of Shiva and Parvati, with 1 Mukhi and 5 Mukhi on either side — supporting balance between Shiva tattva (consciousness) and Shakti tattva (energy).

A true Gauri Shankar is two beads naturally fused at the stem rather than two singles joined with glue or wire, so look for grain that runs continuously across the join. The fused section is the narrowest point of the bead, so avoid tugging the cord there and keep that bead in the centre if the kavach is ever restrung.
